• Job shadow an adult in a career you’re interested in
• Participate in “career days” at a university or technical institute

Log into SDMyLife system
- Review and revise your Career Matchmaker results
- Take the Career Selector (searching for careers based on a variety of criteria)
- Take the Ability Profiler (learn how your abilities compare to those used in careers that interest you)
- Take the My Skills Assessment (rate your level of skill in 45 key areas)
- Research colleges or technical schools and military options
- Update your Personal Learning Plan
- Update your Portfolio and include information on:
- Extracurricular activities
- Work and volunteer time
- Awards and interests
- Colleges or technical schools of interest
• Research postsecondary program requirements
• Register for 11th grade classes; consider taking rigorous courses that align with career goals, a virtual course, or an Advanced Placement course
• Participate in a summer camp related to your interests (eg., science or engineering camp)
• Look for summer work or volunteer to gain hands-on experience in an area of interest
