- Use the Scholarship Search on SDMyLife to apply for scholarships
- Research colleges, technical schools and military options
- Update your Personal Learning Plan
- Update your Portfolio and include information on:
- Job shadowing/ internship
- Extracurricular activities
- Work and volunteer time
- Awards and interests
- Colleges or technical schools
- National Tests (ACT/SAT, PSAT, PLAN, ETC)
• Take the ACT or SAT test
• Visit colleges or technical institutes
• Talk with admissions counselors that come to your school
• Ask teachers, your school counselor and employer for letters of recommendation
• Fill out and send in college applications
• Attend a financial aid meeting
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) early and submit as close to January 1 as possible.
• Finalize post-graduation decisions
